montana historyMissoula is one of the most enriched cities of Montana in history. There are more than a dozen historical sites in Missoula, like Wilma Building of North Higgins Street, St. Francis Xavier Church of West Pine Street and the Masonic Temple of East Broadway Street. Missoula Historic Preservation Commission is keen to promote the history of Missoula to its residents and visitors through Missoula Historical Preservation Walking Tours.

Now, there’s another tiny but unique way the Western Montana city’s mass have shaped to promote their history to their next generation and to the visitors. This tiny and unique presentation of Missoula’s history can be found in the Southgate Mall along the Brooks Street. It is called Hallways in History, and literally complies with what its name means!

Apart from the hundred plus trendy stores that make it a darling place for the shoppers, Southgate Mall provides a unique treat to the history enthusiasts in its three major hallways. Each of the three hallways are galleries with framed photographs narrating the hundred years of the city’s history. There are ten less than a hundred photographs in total and each of them bear a caption providing background information for the convenience of those who see them.

There are a number of hotels in the Brooks Street and one in the Southgate Mall building as well. So, there are plenty of varieties in the food court of the mall to try out and a number of quality restaurants nearby. There is no need worry about lodging and food facilities in this area. So, if you are travelling to Missoula or anywhere near, don’t forget to make a visit to the very exclusive Hallways in History!
