Views of East Glacier Park

Plan an outdoor vacation where you can come at any time, on any day of the year. Montana Glacier Park has its arms open wide for you 24/7, 365 days a year! It is a wonderful place to visit!

One of the known highlights of Montana Glacier Park is driving through the Going-to-the-Sun-Road which spans 50 miles through the park’s natural interior, snaking around the mountains offering visitors to some of the best sights in northwest Montana. The road also provides access to the Lake McDonald Valley, Logan Pass, and the St. Mary Valley as well as the North Fork. The river also provides admittance to Goat Haunt, Many Glacier, and Two Medicine which are all equally great options for discovery.

Each location in Montana Glacier Park allows visitors to discover historic homesteading sites, changing landscapes, Native American history, wilderness, peace, alpine meadows, and glacially-carved valleys. There are many activity options available, depending on how long you desire to stay.

If you have a day, you can participate in a ranger-led talk or walk, investigate the Discovery Cabin in Apgar Village where you can learn about the park’s plants and animals. Any visitor can even use a cell phone to listen to audio recordings while strolling back in time on the park head quarter’s district historic walking tour.

If staying for multiple days, enjoy a backpacking trip deep within Glacier’s wild interior, hike through forests and up mountains on over 700 miles of hiking trails. Camping is available at any one of the thirteen (13) front country campgrounds. Boat cruises are available to learn about geology as well as park history. Experience guided horseback riding trips, tour the Going-on-the-Sun Road in a Red Bus, and indulge in amphitheater programs throughout your stay.

Since the park is a remote place, you will find that cell phone connectivity and reception is very limited and there is also no WIFI connectivity in most areas, however the visitor centers have bookstores where you can make calls. Montana’s Glacier National Park is one of the best places to visit with family and friends at nearly anytime of the year!
