Re-live History At Historic Museum at Fort Missoula

The Historic Museum at Fort Missoula came into existence in the year 1975 by public effort to protect the genuine objects of the fort which dates back from 1887 and construes regional history. The museum occupies a 32 acre land in the heart of the historic fort located along the Captain Rawn Way. Open throughout the year, the museum stands as one of the key bearers of history in Western Montana.
The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula offers to the visitors a priceless educational and cultural experience. Visitors get exposed to a massive collection of almost thirty thousand historical objects. They love viewing the thirteen unique historic structures placed in the museum.
Historical Museum at fort Missoula consists of a number of indoor galleries upholding exhibits of both permanent and transitory nature. The gallery of permanent exhibition, the Main Missoula Gallery, displays the two hundred and fifty years enriched history of Missoula. The Heath Gallery has been showcasing since April 2014 an exclusive exhibition named ‘Growing the Garden City’ which highlights the first half century years of the city. The particular exhibition will continue till January 2016. Visitors can find Annual Holiday Exhibit this year in the Orientation Gallery of the museum.
There’s a gift shop at the museum named Museum Store allowing visitors to purchase out of the ordinary souvenirs. The Historical Museum offers discounted entry to the students and senior citizens while children under the age six can enjoy free entrance.
