Lewis Clark NHT

Montana attractions offer visitors many sites to see including the Lewis & Clark National Historical Trail (NHT). The Lewis & Clark Expedition traveled through the area and to this day, visitors can experience the area.

The trail today is the product of many people who have worked together to preserve the trail including federal agencies, tribal agencies, as well as state and local organizations. Many private organizations in Montana as well as other states have added their expertise and hard work to make this attraction what it is.

The full trail is over thirty-seven hundred miles which provides visitors with a historical experience. Part of this trail runs through the Montana Mountains and region which many tourists enjoy.

Within the state of Montana, several visitor centers are available for those visiting the national historical trail. Big Hole National Battlefield is located in Wisdom, Montana. The Canyon Ferry Visitor Center along the trail is located in Helena, Montana. Tourists can also visit the Lewis & Clark National Historical Trail Interpretive Center in Great Falls, Montana.

Other locations along the Montana historical trail include the Upper Missouri River Visitor Center in Lewiston, MT. Another visitor center of choice includes the Lodgepole Gallery & Tipi Village Blackfoot Art Cultural Center.

Each of these visitor center locations, as well as others available along the Lewis & Clark National Historical Trail will provide a unique experience in history of the expedition.
