January 9, 2015 | Leave a Comment
Launched in 1977, International Wildlife Media Center is located at The Roxy Theater in South Higgins Street of Missoula. The organization aims to uphold awareness, knowledge and understanding of wildlife, habitation, people and nature through excellence in the media like movies and television.
The center hosts the International Wildlife Film Festival, the world’s originally juried movie commemoration on wildlife. The organization arranges the Roxy’s community cinema program which runs throughout the year offering more than seven hundred community-centric movies and events yearly. International Wildlife Media Center also runs the Montana Film Academy which is dedicated in providing youth filmmaking and media education.
Each of the programs help International Wildlife Media Center in extending outreach and education in order to fulfill their aim. They don’t confine their programs to a particular age group; rather they include school kids as well as elders. Their programs include a wide variety of offerings, which ranges from wildlife to environmental, modern to classic, nonfiction to documentaries, music to poetry.
International Wildlife Media Center arranges one of the sensational events of Missoula, the WildWalk parade and WildFest. The WildFest creates a huge mass gathering at the Caras Park of Missoula. The event offers live concert, exhibits, booths along with educational and arts and crafts programs. In the year 2015, the WildWalk and WildFest will be held on 19 April.
If you’re planning to be in Missoula soon, don’t forget to make a trip to the International Wildlife Media Center. If you love environment, nature and wildlife, you will love the programs they have to offer. This is a great family friendly place to visit!
