Montana de Oro 2

In 2014, there are major changes coming at the Montana de Oro Trails. The Bluff Trail area will become more accessible to those with disabilities so all can see the scenic beauty the area holds. The project is scheduled to begin and will require part of the park to be closed during different times. The final outcome will be the entire two mile section of trails in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act.

This will be a great thing for those with disabilities who like to travel to the Montana State Park which holds one of the most breathtaking views of nature. Newcomers will see the old bridge for pedestrians replaced with a new bridge. Now picnic areas will also be put into place as well as handicap accessible parking.

Two new restrooms will also be put into working order which will comply to the needs of those with handicaps. The landscaping area will also be changed in some places which will allow the new trails to be wider for those who need the extra space traveling through the area.

Sections of deeply rutted ground will be also corrected at Montana de Oro trails. Much soil erosion has occurred over time as well as their have been drainage issues. These two concerns will also be corrected during the project work in 2014.
